CES believes that when share cultural values are emphasized, cultural cooperation can undergird policy cooperation. Issues of peace building and sustainability have strong components of human value and shared humanity as the results of such policies have global, rather than just national, implications.
In the EU, the flourishing of national and supranational cultural identities is fundamental to the cultural dynamism of the EU and the interwoven, cultural fabric of EU identity.
As part of this grant, we have created a series of large-scale art and policy-related activities that emphasize the relevancy of the humanities to the sciences as well as reach a broad community of people whose interests range from international relations to environmental studies to community building and, ultimately, to the arts.
